Shell Exploration will be the first user of Honeywell’s (www.honeywell.com) MeterSuite, a fiscal metering solution for oil and gas companies. Shell will use MeterSuite to measure and document the amount of gas its North Cormorant platform in the North Sea imports from the Western Leg Pipeline. As part of the deal, Shell will use Honeywell’s Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) technology to help optimize operations on the MeterSuite platform. The project is slated for completion in Summer 2005.

Introduced in the summer of 2004, MeterSuite measures gas and liquid product flows between companies, making it easier to document and calculate appropriate tax payments. MeterSuite integrates with Honeywell and non-Honeywell distributed control systems.
