Dow Ups Price for Chelants, Thermal Fluids

Effective Nov. 1, The Dow Chemical Company (www.dow.com) will increase list and off-list prices in the United States by $0.10/lb. with a $0.05/lb Temporary Voluntary Allowances on all grades and forms of the following VERSENE products. A Temporary Voluntary Allowance (TVA) is short term price relief which may be offered by Dow to its customers that can be withdrawn without notice at Dow”s discretion.

• VERSENE 100 XL Chelating Agent
• VERSENE 100 LN Chelating Agent
• VERSENE 100 EP Chelating Agent
• VERSENEX 80 Chelating Agent
• VERSENOL 120 Chelating Agent
• VERSENE DIAMMONIUM EDTA
• VERSENE TETRAAMMONIUM EDTA

Effective Nov. 1 Dow Chelants will increase list and off-list prices in the US by $0.10 USD/lb. on all grades and forms of the following products:
• VERSENE Chelating Agent Powder
• VERSENE NA Chelating Agent
• VERSENE NA2 Chelating Agent
• VERSENE CA Chelating Agent
• VERSENE CA FCC Chelating Agent
• VERSENE Acid
• VERSENE 220 Chelating Agent

According to Dow, the price increases are due to rising transportation costs in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita on the Gulf Coast, as well as increasing feedstock and energy prices.

Meanwhile, Dow has already (Oct. 1) raised list- and off-list prices of all DOWTHERM high-temperature thermal fluids and related products in North America by 8 percent. This price increase will apply to the following products:

• DOWTHERM J
• DOWTHERM MX
• DOWTHERM Q

Rising raw materials, energy, and transportation costs are cited as the reasons for this price increase.
