SciQuest, Actio Partner on Chemical Mgmt

SciQuest (www.sciquest.com), a provider of on-demand supplier and materials management solutions, partnered with Actio (www.actiocms.com), a provider of chemical lifecycle management applications. As part of the agreement, SciQuest will offer Actio’s Chemical Profile Database (CPD) and MSDS Vault as an enhancement to its Chemical Manager product. Actio will resell SciQuest’s supply chain solutions including Chemical Manager to supplement its suite of chemical lifecycle management products.

SciQuest Chemical Manager is an on-demand materials management solution that helps organizations centrally manage chemicals and hazardous substances and track them from purchase through disposal. According to SciQuest, with Chemical Manager and the Actio solutions, users can:
• Reduce the cost associated with managing chemical inventory
• Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate reporting
• Access an extensive reference database of chemical substances including the most commonly ordered chemical compounds
• Requisition chemicals from multiple supplier sources using a single shopping experience
• Find substances and containers through structure and substructure searching tools
• Gain access to MSDS data with a subscription to Actio’s MSDS Vault
• Add containers with custom labels directly to inventory from a purchase order
• Reduce maverick spending by avoiding purchases of substances already in inventory

Actio’s CPD is a collection of chemical data from multiple, referenceable sources, providing users the ability to properly and accurately interpret multiple physical properties of a substance and identify those materials with regulatory and classification descriptions such as hazardous, carcinogenic, or a hazardous air pollutant (HAP).
