Hach Company (www.hach.com) acquired Marsh-McBirney (www.marsh-mcbirney.com), adding Marsh’s flow measurement products to its line of water monitoring technologies. According to Hach, it will be able to market Marsh’s products to a global customer base as demand for flow measurement technologies in developing nations continues to rise.

Marsh-McBirney’s Flo-Dar flowmeter won the 2005 Innovative Technology Award from the Water Environment Federation. According to Marsh, the meter is the first sewer flow monitoring technology that provides accurate velocity and flow measurements without making contact with sewage.

“We are delighted about our partnering with Hach,” said Marsh-McBirney CEO and founder, Larry Marsh. “Our companies have a similar approach — success through a single-minded commitment to providing superior technologies and service. Combining our forces is an exceptional catalyst for the future growth of our technologies and business.”
