Water Works Industry Solutions (WWIS, www.wwindustrysolutions.com) released a DVD training series for waterworks personnel. The DVD, titled Training and Installation: The Basics, includes 36 introductory lessons designed to help supplement and aid in the understanding and safety of the most common waterworks parts, how they are used in the field, and general installation best practices.

Each lesson begins with an introduction by NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Kurt Busch, who worked in the waterworks industry for the Las Vegas Valley Water District before becoming a full-time racecar driver. Lessons were developed in compliance with AWWA, Uni-Bell, and DIPRA’s industry standards. The DVD comes complete with:

  • Step-by-step DVD lessons conducted by professional waterworks personnel
  • Guides for reading and understanding the O.D. chart
  • Introductions on installation
  • A 3D animated review
  • A Web-based assessment program to evaluate the skills and effectiveness of your workforce
  • Reusable lessons to provide new hires with consistent training

Lessons will be available for purchase as a complete 36 DVD set or individually by lesson. The series is currently available in English, with a Spanish version expected later this year
