Aquatech International Corporation (www.aquatech.com) was awarded a contract by Kansas City Power & Light (KCPL), Kansas City, Mo., to provide mechanical vapor compressor-driven evaporators to treat flue gas desulfurization (FGD) scrubber blowdown wastewater. The treatment scheme consists of a 60 GPM pretreatment clarifier followed by two-by-30 GPM Brine concentrators. Burns & McDonnell (www.burnsmcd.com) will serve as the owner’s engineers on the project.

On this contract, Aquatech International is responsible for complete design engineering, material sourcing, fabrication and manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and startup supervision of the wastewater treatment unit.

This is Aquatech’s second FGD wastewater project with Burns & McDonnell and seventh overall within the last two years.
