IDEX Corporation (www.idexcorp.com), a publicly traded company that manufactures highly engineered fluidics components and subsystems, formally designated 10 of the businesses it has acquired since 1995 as part of its newly formed Health & Science Technologies segment.

The companies comprising IDEX Health & Science, along with their core technologies, include:
• Eastern Plastics (Bristol, Connecticut, USA) — manifolds and high-precision machined components;
• Gast Manufacturing (Benton Harbor, Michigan, USA) — vacuum pumps and compressors;
• Ismatec (Glattbrugg, Switzerland) — peristaltic pumps;
• Jun-Air (Norresundby, Denmark) — ultra-quiet, clean-air compressors;
• Micropump (Vancouver, Washington, USA) — gear and micro-annular gear pumps;
• Rheodyne (Rohnert Park, California, USA) — high- and low-pressure valves;
• Sapphire Engineering (Pocasset, Massachusetts, USA) — precision dispense pumps, components, and flow cells;
• Systec (New Brighton, Minnesota, USA) — degassers and debubblers;
• Trebor International (West Jordan, Utah, USA) — air-operated, double-diaphragm pumps; and
• Upchurch Scientific (Oak Harbor, Washington, USA) — fittings and tubing.

Stupfel, vice president of marketing for IDEX Health & Science, in a prepared statement. "Our fluidics and gas management systems and precision components are the key enabling technologies within a variety of custom applications around the world."

In 2006, through sales teams in North America, Europe, Asia, India, and Australia and distributors around the globe, nearly 40 percent of Health & Science sales occurred outside the United States. Manufacturing facilities are located in the U.S., Europe, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, and China.
