The Fieldbus Center at Lee College, a National Science Foundation (NSF, www.nsf.gov)-recognized and funded institution, will be offering “Fieldbus For Sales Professionals,” a one-day certified training course intended for controls and instrumentation sales professionals needing a general understanding of FOUNDATION fieldbus technology. The event wil be held on September 28, 2007.
The event is designed for inside and outside sale representatives, as well as service
personnel employed by plant automation equipment suppliers. The class does
not require previous experience with digital control systems.
The course provides an overview of the FOUNDATION fieldbus protocol. Attendees study basic fieldbus-related facts and terminology and learn how to resolve common technology issues. The differences between digital control systems and traditional instrumentation, and how fieldbus can be cost-effectively integrated into project bid
packages will also be reviewed. While offering a vendor-neutral perspective
on the key aspects of fieldbus technology, course content can be customized
to highlight specific supplier solutions or product features.
