Energy Savings Calculator for Maint. Engineers

Dow Corning (www.dowcorning.com) launched an interactive energy savings calculator for its Molykote brand of lubricants. The online tool is designed to help plant managers and industrial maintenance engineers manage rising energy prices and carbon-dioxide emissions by realizing the significant energy and cost savings available through lubrication best practices.

Users can enter the number of motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors and fans, the kilowatts needed to run them, their efficiency, the hours per day and days per year, and the calculator will provide potential reductions in kilowatt hours, CO2 emissions, and associated cost savings.

Molykote lubricants from Dow Corning are designed to reduce friction to lower the amount of energy needed to operate equipment.
