Industrial pump sales in Asia will reach $15.4 billion in 2012, driven by strong growth in wastewater treatment applications, according to an online report by the McIlvaine Company (www.mcilvainecompany.com). With 2008 pump sales in Asia expected to reach $11.7 billion, the region figures to show approximately 32 percent growth over the next four years.

McIlvaine says China will be the source of much of the growth for pump technology in Asia going forward, as people in this country continue to migrate into urban areas. This trend will force cities in China to build new wastewater treatment plants in the coming years, which will stimulate purchases of new pumping systems.

McIlvaine’s online report, titled Pumps World Market, includes worldwide industrial pump revenue forecasts and is viewable by industry segment, country, and pump type. Available by annual subscription, the report also includes monthly updates of project announcements, new product releases, financial reports, and other pump market news.
