CiDRA Minerals Processing (www.cidra.com) won a contract with Codelco (www.codelco.com), a Chile-based minerals mining company, to provide process monitoring systems for the first phase of a planned expansion contract at the company’s Andina Division. Under terms of the deal, CiDRA will provide its SONARtrac systems for volumetric flow measurements on slurry lines within the concentrator plant.

The Andina Division operates a mine located eighty kilometers northeast of Santiago, 3,700 to 4,200 meters above sea level. Codelco began construction of the first phase of this project in 2007. The project consists of increasing the mine capacity from the current 72,000 tons of mineral per day (ktpd) to values above 92 ktpd.
