A new operational metrics research study from Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA) International conducted by consulting firm Cambashi is now open for participation through Nov. 14

MESA and Cambashi are seeking survey responses from manufacturers and producers in every country in the world, across all production industries, for the study Pursuit of Performance Excellence: Business Success through Effective Plant Operations Metrics, the third survey in a series of MESA Metrics research.

Respondents will receive the MESA 2010 Study Summary report Metrics that Matter Revisited, as well as the full findings report for this study when it is available, Pursuit of Performance Excellence.

Preliminary findings will be released at the MESA European Conference Nov. 9-10, 2011 in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

As part of the study’s promotion, MESA and Cambashi recently announced that managers from manufacturer and producer organizations have formed an Industry Council to guide the new study. According to MESA, this group of managers brings a range of experience and perspectives to the improvement of the study — from continuous process, packaged goods, discrete and hybrid industries, as well as a variety of disciplines from IT, supply chain, continuous improvement, and operations.

According to MESA, the Industry Council has guided the selection of study topics and will also confirm the quality of findings in the final report. In addition, the council vetted the online survey to ensure that it covered the most important topics to identify operational metrics that really matter to the success of the overall business, MESA says.

The Industry Council, like MESA’s members, represents companies of all sizes in a variety of industry segments ranging from food & beverage to electronics and semiconductor from ceramic industrial equipment to compounds and resins, and from consumer goods to ingredients to power generation. These individuals have all been involved in the deployment of operational metrics systems that drive appropriate behavior in manufacturing plants, MESA says.
