Endress+Hauser”sApplicator software is designed to help with the selection and sizingof industrial instruments. Available free as a program running on theEndress+Hauser Web site (www.us.endress.com/applicator) or by requeston CD to install as a local version, the software provides safe,targeted, and fast product selection along with simplified,application-specific sizing. The software is composed of three modules,which are interlinked, but may be used independently, depending on theinformation needed.
The first module isthe “Selection” module, which prompts the user to enter specificmeasuring point parameters. From this information, the softwaregenerates a selection of suitable instruments, with pictures andproperties, which can be viewed in the form of a comparisontable. The comparison table provides a detailed overview of eachsuggestion. Printouts of specification sheets in PDF-format supportengineering requirements.
The second moduleis the “Sizing” module. Products chosen using the Selection module canbe easily transferred into the Sizing module, which calculates all thedata required to determine the optimum instrument, including thenominal width, pressure drop, accuracy, process connections, andmore. Results can be displayed in a variety of ways, includinggraphs, and may be printed or transferred to the software”s thirdmodule.
The third module isthe “Administration or Project” module, which functions like a databaseto save project information, making it easy to access in thefuture. All of the data and parameters relevant to the projectare stored in this module and may be accessed throughout the lifecycleof a project. This module structures projects in hierarchy levels anddocuments them from the company level to TAG numbers. A “ProductConfigurator” interface enables the user to build the completeorder structure and provides access to an online shopping tool.
