Plast-O-Matic Valves”Series HSA all-thermoplastic, air-operated pinch valve with a newlydesigned sleeve element lasts up to five times longer than traditionaldesigns, according to the company.Pinch valves use a normally open sleeve element to control flow. Theyoffer an open flow path to eliminate dead spots and are especiallysuited to slurries and other media with particulate, since theelastomer sleeve will seal around solids that might prevent more commonvalve types from closing. Thesleeve element in Series HSA is a patent-pending design featuringvariable thicknesses and a tapered shape. It is molded from EPDMh2,a new formulation of Ethelyne-Propylene-Diene-Monomer using aproprietary curing process for greater elasticity, durability, andlongevity. This elastomer, combined with the new design, enables thepinch element to achieve over 1,000,000 cycles under test conditions.Series HSA has _” true union connections, threaded or socket. It usescompressed air via an 1/8″ NPT connection and requires a commonthree-way air solenoid to operate, with 45 PSI over line pressure forfull closure. Valve body materials are offered in Geon PVC, CorzanCPVC, Natural Polypro, or Kynar PVDF.
