Emerson ProcessManagement”s Rosemount Analytical PUR-Sense Model 410VPconductivity sensor is an easy to install four-electrode contactingsensor designed for sanitary applications in the food & beverageand life sciences industries. The sensor is manufacturedfrom FDA compliant materials, meets 3A and EHEDG hygienic standards, and is available with a range of sanitary process connections. The sensor offers a wide conductivity measurementrange with linearity between 0.1 µSiemen/cm to 600mSiemen/cm.Typicalapplications for the Model 410VP include monitoring the concentrationof high-conductivity fluids such as clean-in-place solvents andlow-conductivity rinses. It can also be used for monitoring eluents inchromatographic separations, as well as for the detection of liquidinterfaces, all with the same sensor.
The Model 410VP iscompatible with the Emerson Model 1056 Intelligent Analyzer. Analternating current is injected through the outer electrodes and theanalyzer measures the voltage across the inner electrodes. Duringoperation, the current is continuously altered to keep the voltageconstant. Thus, the injected current is directly proportional tothe conductance of the solution. Because the voltage measuringcircuit draws almost no current, series capacitance and cableresistance, which cause considerable error in two-electrodemeasurements at high conductivity, are essentially eliminated. Available with four sanitary connections; 1.5″tri-clamp, two-inch tri-clamp, Ingold G1-1/4, or Varivent ProcessConnection. All wetted plastics and elastomers (G 1-1/4 versiononly) are compliant with 21CFR177, and all wetted surfaces have a 16microinch (0.4 micrometer) Ra finish.
