EmersonProcess Management”sRosemount Analytical Model 6081-P wireless pHtransmitter is being touted as industry’s first wireless pH/ORPtransmitter. Part of Emerson’sSmart Wireless line of products, the pH sensor is designed to extendthe company”s PlantWeb architecture for digital process automation. The transmitter measures both pH and ORP and is compatible with mostRosemount Analytical pH and ORP sensors. The wireless transmitterinstalls easily and joins the wireless network quickly, enablinganalytical measurements that were previously impossible due to physicalor economic constraints, or in movable applications. Installationsavings are as much as 90 percent as compared with traditional wiredservice. Features two-line, 16-character display with intuitive menu screens and plain language prompts in six locallanguages that guide the user through programming and calibrationprocedures. The transmitter’s open, standard WirelessHART digitalcommunications provide access to process variables and essentialdiagnostic and troubleshooting information. The diagnostics enablecontinuous monitoring for problems such as calibration error, high andlow temperature warnings, glass failure, reference failure, ROMfailure, sensor failure, CPU failure, glass and reference warnings. The device is capable of communicatingwith other wireless components in field networks withinEmerson’s Smart Wireless plant infrastructure. Field networks useself-organizing wireless mesh radio frequency communicationstechnology. Emerson”s SmartPower technology delivers three- tofive-year batterylife for the pH transmitter and five- to 15-year life for other SmartWireless transmitters dependent on application.
