Simrit”s bi-component polyurethane rod seal, HDR-2C isa simple, one-piece component that combines low temperature flexibility– down to minus 50 degrees Celsius (minus 58 degrees Fahrenheit) – withextrusion resistance at high pressures. Recommended for use in lift andsteering cylinder applications, the component consists of static anddynamic sealing edges made of low-temperature polyurethane 92 AU 21100and an extrusion-resistant backside made from Simrit’s 98 AU 928polyurethane.Thenew seal design allows for the use of cost-effective engineered plasticguides (rather than metallic guides) and allows for easy installationand additional cost savings due to the integration of the back-up ringin the seal. Compatible with standard housings, the new rod seal isbeing touted as an affordable way to improve cylinder performance.
