Fike”s FireLimiting Explosion Vent panel, Flex-V, is an explosion-protectiondevice, uniquely designed to allow fire-fighting agents the opportunityto effectively control fire situations. Unlike traditional explosionventing, the Flex-V is designed to return to its original position atthe end of the venting process, thereby re-covering approximately 90percent of the vent-relief area, shortening the venting process andreducing the ingress of fresh air (oxygen).  The Flex-V”re-closure” is designed to reduce the risk of secondary explosionswithin the process vessel and allow for more efficient post-explosionfire fighting, because the suppression agents can be injected into are-confined space. The  FLEX-V can also open inward, offeringprotection against vessel collapse due to post explosion vacuum.
