Dynasonics” UFX flowmeter is designed to provide accurate fluid-velocity assessment without opening the pipe.The hand-held meter utilizes a noninvasive transducer, which is placedon the outside of the pipe to generate a flow measurement. Its advancedDoppler-based ultrasonic measuring technique contains two piezoelectriccrystals within one transducer to transmit ultrasonic energy into thefluid stream and receive reflected energy off discontinuities withinthe moving liquid. A large 0.7″ (18 mm) LCD provides stable readings infeet per second or meters per second. The meter measures fluid velocities from 0.3 to 30.0 FPS with a 100-to-one turndown ratio. The meter supports metal or plastic pipes containing liquids with greater than 100 PPM of 100 micron-size suspended solids or entrained gases. The meter is for closed full pipe sizes _” (6 mm) and higher.
