ProSoft Technology’s ProLinx 6000 wireless gateways allow PROFIBUS field devices to sharedata “over-the-air” in a secure way, regardless of different industrialnetworks and protocols. The gateways provide users flexibility in industrial wireless solutions, allowing heterogeneous networks to share process and status data wirelessly. The ProLinx module contains aninternal database that consists of areas for application data, status information, and configuration information. The database is sharedbetween all application ports and is used as a conduit to passinformation from a device on one network to one or more devices on other networks. The database also acts as an access firewall to provide additional wireless security.
