Emerson Process Management’s Saab Rosemount5400 is a radartransmitter that can provideaccurate level measurement regardless of signal or echoe strength, and it features technology that can ignorefalse echoes. The transmitter is a two-wire, noncontact system with no moving parts. Measurement is unaffected bytemperature, pressure, or product density. The low-frequency model (~ 6 GHz) is designed forapplications with turbulence, heavy vapors, foam, or where there is arisk for deposits on the antenna. The high-frequency transmitter (~ 26 GHz) uses a narrower radar beam forinstallations that have tall or narrow nozzles, where the nozzle isclose to the tank wall, or to avoid disturbing objects in the tank.
