Metallized Carbon Corporation”s carbon-graphite ball valve seats are for use in valves designed to handle hot liquids or hot gases and are available in more than 150 grades of Metcar’s carbon/graphite material. The ball seats are a good fit for use in temperatures from approximately 350 F, where plastic ball valve seats begin to soften. They can be used in temperatures up to 800 F in oxidizing environments, where high-temperature carbon-graphite materials start to oxidize. They are also a good fit for fire-safe petroleum industry ball valves, which are tested to withstand temperatures of 1400 F-1800 F. A high degree of chemical compatibility makes the valve seats a good fit for the most severe chemical environments.
