Metso Selected for Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Metso has been selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), a global index that tracks the performance of sustainability-driven companies.
Companies are selected for inclusion on the basis of their economic, environmental, and social performance. The indices serve as benchmarks for investors who integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios and provide an effective engagement platform for companies who want to develop their sustainable practices.

"Thanks to our motivated people and their dedicated work, we have succeeded in reaching one of our goals on the way to becoming a thought leader in sustainability by 2020. To be included again in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index proves that we are on the right path," says Lennart Ohlsson, senior vice president of Sustainability and Technology Development, for Metso.
Metso published its sustainability strategy in 2012, stating a conviction that sustainability creates long-term shareholder value and enables the company to embrace opportunities and manage risks deriving from economic, environmental, and social trends and challenges.
In addition to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Metso has been reselected for the global FTSE4Good index of responsible investments. The company has been a member of this index since 2002.
