NEWPORT, which began manufacturing in 1965, was previously a sister company of Omega Engineering, but now the two companies will be one and the same.

Newport Electronics, a provider of high-precision test, measurement, process control and automation instrumentation, will now operate under the OMEGA brand name of Omega Engineering, Inc. NEWPORT, which began manufacturing in 1965, was previously a sister company of Omega Engineering, but now the two companies will be one and the same.

As a product of the change, the shop online feature of newportUS.com has been closed. Online users can now go directly to omega.com to place online orders. The newportUS.com website will remain as a resource for manuals, specifications, mechanical information, etc.

Omega Engineering was founded in 1962 and now offers over 100,000 solutions for the measurement of temperature, pressure, flow, level, strain, humidity, pH, and conductivity, as well as a line of data acquisition, electric heating, and custom-engineered products. In 2011, Omega Engineering Inc., was acquired by Spectris plc, a supplier of productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls.
