Earlier this week in Chicago, Flow Control magazine was honored with an editorial “Gold” award in the Midwest-South Region of the 2010 Azbee Awards program sponsored by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE). The award recognized Flow Control ”s July 2009 “Spilled Ink” case history, which was authored by Flow Control Editor in Chief, Matt Migliore. The same article was recognized earlier this month with an “Award of Excellence” in the “Technical Writing” category of the 2010 Awards for Publications Excellence (APEX) competition. The ASBPE”s Azbee awards program, established more than 20 years ago, is designed to recognize outstanding editorial, design, and Web development in the business publishing segment. With more than 1,000 entries in a typical year, the competition is the largest dedicated exclusively to the business press.

Awards are given in more than 30 editorial, design, and online categories. Any qualifying trade, professional, business or association publication may enter. ASBPE membership is not required. Flow Control also won a regional editorial “Gold” award in the 2009 Azbee awards program for its “Pump Guy” series, a regular column authored by pumping systems expert, Larry Bachus.
