American Water Works Association Announces Winners of ACE13 Fresh Ideas Poster Sessions

The American Water Works Association announced winners of its annual student poster session, held during AWWA's Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE13) in Denver, Colo., June 9-13.

The American Water Works Association announced winners of its annual student poster session, held during AWWA's Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE13) in Denver, Colo., June 9-13.

First place was awarded to Adam Markos of Black & Veatch, for his poster titled “Baffled about Water Quality? A Case Study in Clearwell Short Circuiting, Chlorine Dose Management and Water Quality at the Burnsville, MN WTP”. Markos represented the Minnesota Section of AWWA.

Second Place was awarded to Victoria Hewlett, Walkerton Clean Water Centre, for her poster titled “Challenges to Treat Cyanotoxins from Drinking Water on a Large, Small and Household Scale”. Hewlett represented the Ontario Section of AWWA.

Third Place was awarded to Rachael Lane of The University of Kansas, for her poster titled “Leaching of BPA and Related Compounds from Epoxy Coatings into Drinking Water”. Lane represented the Kansas Section of AWWA.
