Gardner Denver field trials new pump

Gardner Denver Petroleum & Industrial Pumps (P&IP) entered into a six-month field trial of its new Thunder 5000 HP Quintuplex pump at STEP Energy Services (STEP) in Alberta, Canada. During the six-month field trial, STEP will supply weekly operating data for the pump, including discharge pressure, suction pressure, RPM, pounds of proppant and temperatures.

“The Thunder 5000 HP Quintuplex pump carves a pathway for customers to achieve maximum flow capability in terms of barrels per minute, while also minimizing maintenance costs,” said Edward Bayhi, vice president and general manager, Gardner Denver P&IP. “The pump includes long stroke operating performance based on the previous 3000 model, plus new Thunder fluid end technology designed to significantly improve fluid end life over conventional designs. Our customers will benefit from improved reliability and serviceability.”

World Wide Metric celebrates 50 years

World Wide Metric, a global supplier specializing in the distribution of valves, flanges, piping systems and hydraulic components, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The family owned company was founded in 1970 by former ship captain Constantinos Contos in Brooklyn, New York, originally established as a ship repair company. In 1985, Contos made the decision to leave the ship repair business and focus solely on the wholesale distribution of metric parts to the marine and industrial markets. By 2008, World Wide Metric was stocking more than 50,000 products across the U.S. To commemorate the anniversary, World Wide Metric has released a celebratory logo with the tagline “Keeping the World Flowing” to continue to pay tribute to the company’s legacy as a supplier in the maritime industry.
