Curtiss-Wright’s Nuclear Division announced it has signed an agreement with Exelon Generation Company LLC to license the company’s valve program performance data. Working in partnership with Exelon Generation, Curtiss-Wright will leverage the performance data to increase the effectiveness of its StressWave ultrasonic leak detection technology and promote the implementation of best practices in valve assessment, analysis and performance across the U.S. nuclear fleet and power generation industry.

Exelon Generation has utilized Curtiss-Wright’s StressWave technology as part of their valve program for more than a decade. During this time, the ultrasonic leak detection platform has delivered valuable insights into Exelon Generation’s valve maintenance practices, resulting in a near elimination of premature valve failures, extension of valve maintenance frequency and realization of significant cost savings.
