Rockwell Automation has completed the acquisition of the medium voltage drives business of Harbin Jiuzhou Electric Co., in order to serve Asia’s growing motor control market, according to an official announcement. The purchase enables Rockwell Automation to design, engineer and manufacture medium voltage drives and power solutions for a broader base of Chinese and other customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Jiuzhou Electric has served as Rockwell Automation’s contract manufacturer for seven years.
Rockwell Automation’s medium voltage drives business is one of the fastest growing units at the company, said Mike Laszkiewicz, vice president, general manager for Rockwell Automation’s power control business.
Rockwell Automation employs more than 1,900 people in China. Established in 2000, Harbin Jiuzhou Electric Co. focuses on research and development, manufacturing, sales and services of high-power, electrical and electronic equipment as part of it medium voltage drives business.
