AutomationDirect’s ProSense digital panel meters in 1/32 and 1/8 DIN sizes feature IP65-rated meter faces and menu-driven push-button configuration. Input options include analog, temperature, AC/DC current and voltage, and pulse/frequency inputs. These units accept input from AC voltage, magnetic sensors, NPN/PNP sensors, NAMUR sensors, TTL/24V encoders, or switched contacts, and provide selectable sensor excitation voltages. Output options include alarm relays, analog signal re-transmission and sensor excitation voltage.

Wilden’s SafeGuard is a pump-monitoring system that remotely tracks, records and alerts customers to key performance indicators, such as leak detection, stroke rate and total stroke count, of AODD pumps during operation. It also provides the ability to store maintenance records to help identify patterns. The connected system is composed of a battery-powered sensor mounted onto the pump. This sensor collects and analyzes pump-performance data in real-time and transmits it to a central gateway for encryption and transmission to the cloud.

Through continuous performance management, reports and alerts, it increases reliability and sustains optimal performance.
4 | AC motors
ABB's AXW 5000 and 5800 large AC motors offer more horsepower per pound than conventional TEFC motors but with a smaller frame size. Other advantages include higher power densities, reduction of noise, constant cooling on variable speed drive applications to extend speed and power ranges, and reductions of heat in the surrounding environment. For harsh, contaminate-filled environments, the AXW is suited for continuous operation due to the consistent cooling of the water jacket surrounding the motor.
