Photon Control published a white paper titled “Flare Metering with Optics: From Blue-Sky Technology to the Real World,” written jointly by Photon Control, ConocoPhillips, and Letton-Hall Group. The paper reviews development, testing, and deployment of Photon Control’s Focus Probe optical flowmeter for a flare metering application. The meters were demonstrated to help in flare reduction, resulting in higher profits and lower emissions at refining facilities.
