HI Seeks Comment on Vertical Pump Std

The Hydraulic Institute (HI, www.pumps.org), under the approval of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI, www.ansi.org), is seeking qualified individuals in North America to participate in the review process


The Hydraulic Institute (HI, www.pumps.org), under the approval of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI, www.ansi.org), is seeking qualified individuals in North America to participate in the review process for the draft of updated standard ANSI/HI 2.4, Rotodynamic (Vertical) Pumps for Installation, Operation, and Maintenance Manuals.

The committee limited its activity to Rotodynamic (Vertical) Pumps, including the following:

A) Vertical, diffuser deep well pumps
B) Vertical, diffuser, short set pumps
C) Vertical, diffuser, can mounted pumps
D) Vertical, diffuser, submersible, deep well pumps
E) Vertical, diffuser, submersible, short set pumps
F) Vertical, diffuser, double casing, inline, floor mounted
G) Vertical, volute, double suction, wet pit
H) Vertical, volute, double suction, can type
I) Vertical, volute, multi-stage axial split, can type

Excluded from the scope of products are vertical in-line pumps, horizontal centrifugal pumps mounted vertically (e.g., sewage pumps), vertical, overhung impeller pumps, and close-coupled single-stage submersible pumps.

Individuals and organizations in North America directly and materially affected by this standard are asked to contact HI. These parties include pump users and specifiers, producers, standards developers, government agencies, and general interest groups. HI is currently assembling a canvass list of all parties interested in reviewing the draft. This list will be submitted to ANSI in order to meet its open canvass requirements.
