Emerson Process Managementearned SIL 3 certification of several ranges of its Fisher valves toIEC 61508 standards. The independent third-party certification provesthat Emerson’s design process, engineering, and testing fully complywith IEC 61508. This certification enables users to boost plantavailability and safety by using the technology-leading Fisher GX,Vee-ball, easy-e, and HP valves in safety instrumented systems in up toSIL 3 loops, per IEC 61508. The four control valve ranges have beencertified by independent third-party safety professionals EXIDA foron-off operation within a SIL 3 safety instrumented function. Thevalves can be packaged with the already successful SIL 3-certifiedFisher FIELDVUE DVC6000 SIS digital valve controller to enhance thesafety function and monitor the health of the entire final controlassembly,  a core component of Emerson’s smart SIS complete safetyloop offering.
