Melbourne, Australia, July 12, 2022 (Hawk Measurement Systems release)  Hawk Measurement Systems (HAWK), a leader in level, positioning, asset monitoring and fiber optic sensing systems, has designed and developed the industry’s first Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter featuring Power over Ethernet communications, CGR PoE.

HAWK’s CGR PoE Level Transmitter has won multiple awards for innovation and uniqueness. Winner of the 2021 Plant Engineering Product of the Year Award and 2021 Chemical Processing Vaaler Award, this industry leading product is changing the way companies measure, monitor and track assets.

Jack Evans, global president of Hawk Measurement, said: “HAWK continues to focus on developing technologies to help our customers. We are very excited about the interest and feedback for the Guided Radar Power over Ethernet product as this was developed based on our customers' needs and input.”

The advantages to Power over Ethernet connectivity are secure in-plant and remote monitoring, as well as remote sensor setup, diagnostics and troubleshooting abilities. If any troubleshooting is required, the CGR PoE will communicate to remote service technicians for off-site diagnostics, sensor health and re-configuration, without the need to climb a tank or enter the facility. HAWK's CGR PoE level transmitter can connect to an online portal, the HawkEye365, which can monitor multiple tanks worldwide in real-time.

The HawkEye365 Online Monitoring Portal received the 2021 Honorable Mention P.I. Innovation Award and Plant Engineering's Product of the Year Finalist Award. This innovative monitoring portal provides accessibility to critical data such as the ability to view volume, space, material height, historical trending, alarms and alerts, sensor setup and diagnostics. Plant level operator screens are customized to the company’s specifications to include control room level and operations level interface screens. The graphical user interface will be common throughout and permissions can be set for different tiers such as plant-level, finance, or executive level. Asset measurement and monitoring management is becoming more critical throughout process industries such as oil & gas, chemical & petrochemical, water & wastewater, energy, mining and agriculture. It is imperative to implement reliable technologies to monitor and manage valuable commodities and inventory assets.
